After thirteen years away, Boards of Canada re-emerge with Inferno, a record that deepens their distinct blend of melody and atmosphere. Speech fragments play a more prominent role, woven into their familiar analogue drift, adding texture and ambiguity. The result is a slow-burning set that balances warmth and disquiet, refining their sound while pushing it into more obscure territory.
