(CD) ÆVESTADEN - NI BLOMSTER I EN ÅKER

Ævestaden's expression lies in the meeting between the old and the modern – in combining older instruments such as the kantele, lyre and mouth harp with electronic elements and a production that draws influences from pop, ambient and folk music. Together, these parts create an expression that can feel both timeless and unsettling at the same time – as if the music floats somewhere outside of time. The mood of the music shifts between the sacred, the melancholic and the uplifting, with room for both silence and intensity. Perhaps this is what characterises Ævestaden: a desire to explore the vulnerable, the mysterious and the human – without being bound by genres.
